The question of cost and spa heating is one that we hear from our customers frequently. “How much does it really cost to heat my spa or hot tub?”
The answer depends on several factors; where you live, the cost of your electricity, the size of the heating element, what voltage your heating element operates on etc.
Here ar two examples:
Example 1
Let’s assume the following;
• You live in Southern California.
• The cost of electricity is 15cents/kwh
• You have a 1500w heating element, 120 volt power.
• You have a spa that is 3 years old (a high quality spa with outstanding insulation)
• In order to maintain the heat in the spa, you need to heat it 3 hrs per day (average)
• Your heating heart is 1hp, 120v.
